Chicha de Jora is a fermented corn beverage that is served in the Sierra of Ecuador. It is very common to see a ritual sharing of chicha at many festivals throughout the highlands. Feel free to accept any chicha that is offered but know that it is expected that you finish what is in the cup so that the cup can be used again and offered to the next person. This gentleman was offering chicha to parade participants and watchers during the Carnival parade in Guamote.
