Hiking the high paramo in Cayambe-Coca National Park is an excellent way to experience what Ecuadorians call winter in these parts. Unless you are hiking in August (or maybe a couple of weeks in late July or early September), you are likely to find foggy, misty, rainy conditions and very muddy trails. But this is the paramo most of the year.
