Alejandro Valenzuela, better known as Ale to his friends and former clients, has almost two decades of experience in the field with personal access to the best bird photography lodges and nature reserves.
While his specialty focus is photographing birds he also loves other species of flora and fauna and will adapt itineraries to see all kinds of critters, depending on his clients’ interests. As a bonus, Alejandro’s love for Ecuador’s rich history and culture, amazingly diverse local foods, and stunning landscapes inform his guiding style. Clients are guaranteed to see more than birds.

We went on a day bird-tour with him two times, both times had a great time. His English is good, and he is also an honest bird guide. I have been birding all around the world, and sometimes you notice people just say something which can not be true. Alejandro is a person you can trust, and if he doesn’t know a bird or didn’t see it he will tell you. He has a lot of knowledge of the area and the birds and we had a great time both times. I met Alejandro while touring the East Slope near Cosanga, Ecuador. I was immediately struck by his love of all things natural. His easy-going manner and knowledge of his country made our small group trip all the better!
